Decisivi per la rielezione i voti di due repubblicani che si erano inizialmente schierati contro Johnson e hanno poi cambiato il loro voto nel corso del primo scrutinio rimasto aperto. \u00a0Dopo aver inizialmente detto &#039;no&#039; a Johnson, il rappresentante repubblicano della Carolina del Sud Ralph Norman e quello del Texas Keith Self hanno cambiato il loro voto.
